About the Roundtables
We’re all used to going to conferences where the sessions consist of three or four PowerPoint presentations and five minutes of polite question and answer. While this format certainly has its place, that place is not at the Mountain and Resort Town Planning Summit!
The Summit brings together experts in land use and transportation, housing, economic development, sustainability, resilience, and leadership in a mountain town and resort context – all of you who attend. Our roundtables leverage the strengths of our attendees to:

- Share “war stories” and lessons learned
- Discuss best practices
- Identify communities that have implemented innovative strategies
- Provide the opportunity for post-Summit collaboration between communities to develop new solutions to mountain town and resort issues
Who Attends
For the past three conferences there have been a range of participants primarily from western states and provinces, but we look forward to connecting with our east coast professionals this year. The mountain and resort towns have included large destination resorts but also up/down valley communities and surrounding counties and regional districts. Past attendance has included but has not been limited to professional planners, housing managers, planning commissions, and consultants from the following places:
